Today would have been J Dilla’s 50th birthday. It also marks the 18th anniversary of his album, Donuts. Jay Dee is a legend whose legacy lives on even after he passed back in 2006. This article is a dedication to one of my favorite songs of his and one of my favorite albums of all time. RIP Dilla.

. Elzhi is a rapper from Detroit who I consider to be one of the best lyricists of all time. Elzhi recorded a few songs over some J Dilla beats back in the day which eventually caught Dilla’s attention. Jay Dee put him on his Welcome to Detroit album which helped give Elzhi some serious buzz as Dilla was one of the best producers in the rap game and respected by everybody.
